Itinerary


Jerusalem is one of the most ancient cities in the world and was established in the 4th millenium B.C.E.  Jerusalem has a new city and an old city, today it is bursting at the seams of the city walls
Walking through the Old City of Jerusalem, on the cobbled stones, feel the special atmosphere. of ancient times.  Jerusalem has been in conflict for thousands of years, with many peoples trying to control the ancient city.
Masada was built in the 1st century on a plateau in the middle of the desert.  Herod the Great captured Masada and built palaces here for his personal use.  Around 73 C.E. the Romans conquered Masada from the Jews after a very long siege.
The Dead Sea has been a refuge for thousands of years.  King David used to come to the Dead Sea to escape from the many problems that he faced.  The soothing waters of the Dead Sea are known to cure most ailments, with its water that is rich in minerals..  


Day 1: Jerusalem and Bethlehem

Pick up at your hotel in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.
Start with a view of Jerusalem, the Old City and the Temple Mount.
Drive along the Kidron Valley, view the Mount of Olives, the Church of all Nations, the Garden of Gethsemane, and the burial tombs.  
Enter the Old City through the Zion Gate, to the Byzantine Cardo by way of the Armenian Quarter.
Proceed to the Western Wall by the Jewish Quarter.
Walk along the Via Dolorosa, follow the Stations of the Cross, arriving at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
Walk through the market, and travel to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus.
Walk across Manger Square to the Church of Nativity.
Return to hotel for overnight.

Day 2:  Masada and the Dead Sea

We start the day off with breakfast in your hotel.  Descend down to the Dead Sea by way of the Judean Desert, on the way pass the Inn of the Good Samaritan, and stop at the sea level marker.  See Jericho in the distance.
Continue to Masada.  Take the cable car to the top and look down at the snake path.  Tour the synagogue, the Bath houses, the Roman barracks, and much more.
Returning pass the oasis of Ein Gedi, and Qumran where the Dead Sea scrolls were found.
Arrive at the Dead Sea for a swim, even if you can't swim you can float. 
Arrival back at your hotel about 18:00 p.m.
