Jericho is over 11,000 years old and considered the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. Archaeologists have discovered over 20 settlements in Jericho. The houses used to be built round around a central courtyard, and made out of mud brick. Archaeologists have found artifacts that date back to the Bronze Age and the Stone Age. There are 2 ancient synagogues in Jericho that have very beautiful mosaics still intact.
Bethlehem is home to the Church of Nativity, with its original mosaic floor. Bethlehem is where the Christians make their pilgrimage to every year at Christmas.
Start the tour from your hotel in Tel Aviv, where you will be collected by our professional driver at 07:15 a.m. or from Jerusalem at 08:30 a.m Drive down towards the Dead Sea passing the Inn of the Good Samaritan. Travel to Bethlehem to the birthplace of Jesus. Take a walk across Manger Square to the Church of Nativity. Tour the Crusader Church, that is dedicated to St. Catherine, and go down the grotto where the Hebrew bible was translated into Latin by St. Jerome. In Bethlehem we will pass the milk grotto and go to Shepherd's Fields. From here we will start the journey back.
