Tour Overview

Take a very interesting kibbutz tour from Tel Aviv.  Tour the kibbutz with a guide, who will fully explain the workings of a communal kibbutz, and how they make their living, and prosper.

Itinerary

A Kibbutz started out as being a collective community based on agriculture.  They are based on a socialist Zionist philosophy, with a lifetime membership for everyone living on the kibbutz.  Today a lot of the kibbutzim are divided, and also have a big hand in the manufacturing of products.

Start out the day from the Abraham Hostel in Tel Aviv, where a driver will take you north to the Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael.  It is located on the most beautiful part of the coast of the Mediterranean.  Our guide will be a local, that is a member of the kibbutz. He will start with a short introduction about the kibbutz, and we will go on a full tour of the kibbutz.  See the fish pools, that provide most of the income for the kibbutz.  The guide will tell you the history and his experience of living here.  He will also explain the culture and history that goes along with the kibbutz.  Have a tasty lunch in the communal dining hall.

This is one of the last remaining communal kibbutzim in Israel.  This is one of the most unique tours where you will have the chance to experience one of Israel's most influential community structures.

After lunch travel back to Tel Aviv and the Abraham Hostel.  Arrival back at about 15:30.
