The Amman Citadel has been occupied by many civilizations over the years. The temple of Hercules, the Umayyad palace, and a Byzantine church, are just some of the buildings you can find here.  There are plenty of archeological sites, with arches and tombs, walls and stairs, to be explored.
The Dead Sea is the lowest point on Earth, and full of healing minerals that are good for the skin. It is said that the warm soothing waters of the Dead Sea will sooth both body and soul.
Jerash is the site of the ruins of the Greco-Roman city of Gerasa.  Jerash has been inhabited since the Bronze Age.

Mount Nebo is the mountain that is mentioned in the bible as the place where God granted Moses a view of the Holy Land.
Karak has a famous crusader castle. It controlled the traffic on the Kings' Highway, and prospered from the tolls they charged.
Petra, one of the famous seven wonders of the world.  It was first occupied by the Nabataens over 2000 years ago.  They left a rich inheritance in the form of the facades, temples, and a Roman theater.  There are also royal tombs, burial chambers and places of sacrifice.
