Itinerary
Cairo with a population of 6.76 million is the most populated city in Egypt, and all of the Middle East. It is home to the Egyptian Museum, with two stories and hundred of thousand of antiquities to see. It holds a vast display of King Tutankhamen treasures. There are hundred of pyramids to tour in and around Cairo. The Pyramids of Giza are the most visited in all of Egypt, along with the Sphinx, which is the largest statue in the Middle East. The pyramids were first built to house the dead pharaohs. One of the cities main attractions is the Khan el Khalili market, where everything is for sale.
A must see is the Cairo Citadel which is large enough to be a city. Today it is a tourist attraction, but at one time it housed the government of Egypt. Inside is the famous Mosque of El Mohammed. There are also many museums and mosques.
