Petra is an amazing site that you will find located in the middle of the desert. The Nabateans were a very prosperous people, that made their money by selling water to passing travelers and tradesmen. Petra is famous for its facades that were carved out of the sandstone mountains. There are over 800 structures to view in Petra, and of course there will not be time to view it all. The guide will take you to see as much as possible in the time you have.
Wadi Rum is inhabited by the Bedouins, and has been for hundreds of years. The Bedouins have built one school for boys and one for girls. They still live in their camel haired tents. There are beautiful paintings that were done on the side of the sandstone mountains by the Nabateans thousands of years ago.
