Petra, a historical site located in the heart of the desert, was once inhabited by the Nabateans over two millennia ago. The Nabateans thrived in this arid region by constructing water cisterns and selling water to passing merchants and travelers. However, a massive earthquake struck Petra, causing irreparable damage to the water cisterns. Consequently, the Nabateans abandoned the city. Despite their departure, Petra remains rich in historical significance, offering a wealth of intriguing remnants from their civilization. Exploring Petra entails marveling at iconic landmarks such as the famous Treasury, as well as discovering mourning halls, temples, tombs, and many other remarkable structures.

Similarly situated in the desert, Wadi Rum is renowned for its ancient inscriptions adorning the mountainsides and its mesmerizing sandstone formations. 

Day 1: Petra

08:15 - 08:30 Our driver will pick you up from your hotel, and drive you to the Arava border.

08:45 - 09:00 Border crossing procedure, then a drive to the Petra site.

11:30 A fascinating day of exploration in Petra, where you will encounter the magnificent Treasury, the intricate tombs, the Roman theater, and various other captivating sights. During this immersive experience, you will gain insights into the history, art, and religious beliefs of the Nabateans.

15:30 After approximately three hours of walking and absorbing knowledge, enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants.

Following lunch, we will drive you to Wadi Rum, where you can settle into your comfortable tent for the night, surrounded by the tranquil desert ambiance.

Day 2:  Wadi Rum
08:00 Wake up to a delightful breakfast in the desert, setting the stage for another day of exploration.

Thrilling two-hour tour in a 4x4 vehicle, traversing the stunning landscapes of Wadi Rum. This immersive journey will allow you to experience the Nabatean way of life and gain a deeper understanding of the Bedouin culture.

12:30 After concluding the tour, a driver will be ready to escort you back to the Arava border, facilitating your return to your hotel in Eilat, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition from the desert wonders to the city's modern comforts.

• Have a valid passport and landing card.
• We require nationality, passport number, date of issue, expiry date, and birth date for reservation.
• Voucher and visa/tax/tip money in cash only (payable in U.S. dollars, Euro, Pound Sterling, or Israeli Shekel).
• Very warm clothing in Winter, cool comfortable clothing, and head covering in Summer.
• Good walking shoes.
