Nazareth is located in upper Israel, and was said to be where Mary lived. She was said to have drawn water from a well, and on top of that is where the Church of Annunciation is built. Nazareth is a very holy town to Christians, and the proof in that is the dozens of churches here. The Moslem population in Nazareth is the largest in Israel, with the Christian population coming in second.
Capernaum was originally a fishing town. There are a lot of excavations that have been done here. Two synagogues were found, one was built on top of the other. There is a mosaic floor from the 1st synagogue that can be seen from the second one. St. Peter once lived in Capernaum and there is a church here named after him.
Golan Heights borders with Jordan and Lebanon, and is in the Northernmost part of Israel. There have been many conflicts over the years of returning the Golan to Syria. Meanwhile Israel continues to build there. The scenery is breathtaking, with the mountains and the tree.
