Itinerario

Petra was abandoned over two thousand years ago by the Nabateans.  It is said that there was an earthquake, and most of the city could not be repaired, so it was abandoned.  Many cultures have been a part of Petra, including the Byzantines, the Bedouins, the Syrians, the Romans, and the Nabateans.  The Nabateans prospered from their construction of water cisterns, and even when the Romans took over pretty much left the Nabateans to continue their work.  There is much to view in Petra including the tombs, facades, temples, mourning houses, crypts, and a Roman theater.

Spend 2 nights in Eilat and one day in Petra.

Arrive in Eilat at your convenience and check in to your hotel in Eilat.
Overnight in hotel, and breakfast in the morning.
Pick up from your hotel about 8:15 a.m.
Transport to the border and continue on to Petra. (2 hour drive)
Tour Petra with a professional guide. See the Treasury, amphitheater, the tombs, the cisterns, the facades, the statues, the crypts, and much more.
After the tour go for a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant.
Continue on to your hotel in Eilat for an extra night.  Arrival back in Eilat around 19:00.
