Frequently asked questions about Border & Visa

Which border crossing should I use to visit Petra?

From Eilat, use the Yitzhak Rabin (Wadi Araba) crossing, about two hours from Petra. From Jerusalem, the Allenby (King Hussein) Bridge is closest but has its own visa rules.

Can I get a Jordan visa at the border?

Most nationalities can get a tourist visa at the Wadi Araba crossing. The Jordan Pass can cover the visa fee if you meet its conditions. Check the rules for your passport before you travel.

Are there fees to leave Israel by land?

Yes. Israel and Jordan both charge land border fees. Amounts change, so we confirm current fees before your tour, and some tours let you pre-pay them.
