Overview

Start in a port that was busy before the Pharaohs and finish on a boulevard full of Bauhaus buildings and coffee bars. This private Tel Aviv tour gives you your own licensed guide and an air-conditioned car for the day, so you see the best of Jaffa and the White City without maps, tickets or waiting for a group.

You drive the beach promenade to old Jaffa, walk its stone lanes and artists' quarter, look out over the harbor linked to the story of Jonah, and browse the flea market. Back in Tel Aviv you explore Carmel Market, Rothschild Boulevard, Independence Hall, Dizengoff Street and Rabin Square, with time for a museum if you like.

A private Tel Aviv tour works well on your first day in Israel, between cruise and hotel, or as a relaxed break from long trips to Jerusalem. Your guide shapes the day around you, whether that means food tastings, art galleries, architecture or simply the best spot for a coffee by the sea.

Pickup is from your hotel or home in Tel Aviv, with Herzliya and Jerusalem also possible, and your private Tel Aviv tour can run up to 10 hours. Prefer a short group walk? See our Tel Aviv walking tour and Jaffa walking tour, or browse all private tours in Israel.

Frequently asked questions

How does private pricing work?

You pay one total price for your group, and it steps up by group size, for example 1 to 3 guests, 4 to 6, 7 to 13 and 14 to 16, since bigger groups need a bigger vehicle. Choose your group size in the booking form and you see the exact total before paying.

How many people can join?

Between 1 and 16 guests travel together in one private vehicle with one guide. For bigger groups, message us and we will add vehicles and guides.

Can we start later or finish early?

Yes. The usual start is 08:30, but we can adjust it on request. The tour can run up to about 10 hours, and you are welcome to finish early at a cafe or market and stay in town.

How much walking is there?

Expect about 3 to 4 km of easy walking, mostly in Jaffa and the city center, with the car moving you between areas. Old Jaffa has slopes and stone steps, so wear comfortable shoes. Our Jaffa walking tour covers the old town on foot in more depth.

Which day of the week is best?

Sunday to Friday is best, because Carmel Market and many shops close on Saturday for Shabbat. On Saturdays the guide adjusts the route toward the seafront, Jaffa and museums. Opening times are listed on the Israel Ministry of Tourism site.

What should I wear and bring?

Light clothes, comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen and water. Tel Aviv is relaxed about dress, but bring a scarf if you want to step into a church or mosque in Jaffa.

Is the tour good for children?

Very much so. Kids enjoy the port, the flea market finds and the food at Carmel Market, and the private car means you can take breaks whenever you need them. For a shorter family outing, try our Tel Aviv walking tour.

Which languages are available?

English is included. Spanish, French, German and Russian guides are available on request for a supplement, depending on guide availability.

Is lunch included and can we customize the route?

Lunch is not included, and Carmel Market is a perfect place to eat. The route is fully flexible, so you can add street art, Neve Tzedek or a museum like the ANU Museum. Love street art? See our Tel Aviv graffiti tour.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel for free up to 48 hours before your start time. Cancelling between 48 and 24 hours before the tour carries a 25% fee, and cancelling within 24 hours or not showing up carries a 100% fee. Private guides and vehicles are reserved only for you, which is why the window is a little longer than on our shared day tours. You can read general visitor guidance from the Israel Ministry of Tourism when planning your dates.
