  • Duration2 days
  • Starts07:45 AM, hotel pickup
  • GuideEnglish, Spanish, Russian
  • Group sizeUp to 15 travelers

Overview

This Petra and Jerash tour covers two of the great ancient cities of Jordan in two days. You walk the Roman streets of Jerash on day 1, sleep in Petra, then ride into the Rose Red City through the Siq on day 2. A licensed English-speaking guide, entrance fees, a horse ride in Petra, lunch in Petra and one 3-star hotel night with breakfast are included.

Day 1 starts in Eilat or Amman. After the border formalities you drive north to Jerash for about two hours among its theaters, hippodrome and oval forum, then continue south to Petra for the night. On day 2 you spend three to four hours in Petra, from the Treasury to the Roman theater and the royal tombs, and leave at around 14:00 for the border and your hotel transfer.

The trip suits travelers who want more than Petra alone but only have two days to give Jordan. Sleeping in Petra means you start the second morning fresh at the site instead of after a long drive. This Petra and Jerash tour is also a good pick for history lovers, since Jerash is one of the best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East.

Pickup is at 07:45 in Eilat or Amman, and a transfer from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem to the Sheikh Hussein crossing can be added for an extra fee. You stay in a 3-star hotel, priced per person in a double room for 2 or more travelers, or as a single room if you travel solo. The booking form shows the exact price for your room and number of travelers. Because the hotel night is pre-paid, the Petra and Jerash tour is non-refundable. Short on time?
