Israel Package Tours
This nazareth and golan heights 2 day tour pairs two very different sides of northern Israel: the volcanic plateau of the Golan, with its ancient villages and border lookouts, and the hometown of Jesus near the Sea of Galilee. You travel with a licensed English-speaking guide in an air-conditioned vehicle, with hotel pickup in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem and one night in a tourist class hotel with breakfast.
Day 1 climbs onto the Golan Heights. After a first look at the Sea of Galilee from above, you stop at the Shalom Observatory, walk through a restored Talmudic village at Katzrin, see the Golan Antiquities Museum and finish on Mount Bental, a former army outpost with views into Syria. Day 2 turns to faith. You visit Mount Precipice, the Basilica of the Annunciation and Saint Joseph's Church in Nazareth, then Capernaum and Tabgha on the lake and the Jordan River at Yardenit, where baptism is possible.
The Nazareth and Golan Heights 2 day tour is a great fit for travelers who want history, faith and big landscapes in one trip, and for mixed groups where not everyone is a pilgrim. Covering both regions in a single day from Tel Aviv would mean most of the day on the road and only quick photo stops. With a night in between, each day has its own theme and you get real time at every site. On some dates the two days run in the opposite order.
Your guide picks you up in Tel Aviv at around 07:15 or in Jerusalem at around 06:00 and brings you back to the same city on day 2. Rooms on this package sleep a maximum of 2 adults, so book a double room to share or a single room for yourself, and the booking form shows the per person price for your date. The hotel night is prepaid, which makes this package non-refundable. Compare it with our one-day Golan Heights tour or the Nazareth and Sea of Galilee day tour, or see the longer 5 day Israel tour. Meet your guide at your hotel at around 07:15 in Tel Aviv or 06:00 in Jerusalem, with the exact time confirmed the evening before. Head north along the coast and across the Jezreel Valley, the biblical plain of Armageddon, to the southern tip of the Sea of Galilee for your first view of the lake with the Golan rising behind it.
Cross the Jordan River and climb past Hamat Gader, hot springs that Roman bathers loved almost 2,000 years ago. At the Shalom Observatory the whole lake lies below you, with Tiberias on the far shore. From up here it is easy to see why this high ground mattered so much in Israel's wars.
Walk into a partly rebuilt village from the Mishnah and Talmud era, made from the dark basalt left by the Golan's old volcanoes. Step inside reconstructed stone houses, see an ancient olive oil press and stand in the remains of the village synagogue. It is a rare picture of everyday Jewish life here about 1,500 years ago.
Finish the day on Mount Bental, a dormant volcano with trenches and bunkers on ground captured from Syria in 1967. Walk through the old positions, then look east over the ceasefire line toward the town of Quneitra. Your guide explains how UN forces have watched this border since 1974.
Check in to your tourist class hotel, named on your booking voucher. The evening is yours to relax and have dinner at your own pace after a full day on the Golan. Breakfast is served at the hotel the next morning.
After breakfast, drive through Galilee farmland to Mount Precipice at the edge of Nazareth. From the lookout the Jezreel Valley spreads out below, and your guide shares the passage from Luke 4 where the townspeople tried to throw Jesus off the cliff.
In the old center of Nazareth, step inside the Basilica of the Annunciation, the large modern church built over the cave linked to Mary's home. Then walk next door to Saint Joseph's Church, where tradition places the workshop of Joseph the carpenter.
Pass the village of Cana on the way down to the lake. At Capernaum you see the white limestone synagogue and the modern church raised above the house of Peter. Nearby Tabgha is home to the Church of the Multiplication, where an ancient mosaic of loaves and fish lies in front of the altar.
Drive along the western shore past Tiberias to Yardenit. Here the Jordan flows out of the lake, and visitors from around the world step into the water to be baptized. You can join in or simply watch. Heading south, Mount Tabor, the traditional site of the Transfiguration, comes into view.
The drive back takes around two to three hours, depending on traffic and your pickup city. You are dropped at your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem in the evening, with two full days of the north behind you.
You choose your pickup city when you book. We confirm the exact pickup time and place by email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.

Bring your valid passport on both days, as IDs can be checked on the road and at the hotel. For the churches in Nazareth and around the lake, men and women need to cover their knees and shoulders. On the Golan, layers are wise because the plateau can be cooler and windier than the coast.
