Israel Package Tours
If you want to see the whole country in one trip without driving or planning it yourself, this 6 day Israel tour covers the classics from the desert to the far north. Over six fully guided days you explore Jerusalem's Old City, Bethlehem and Jericho, ride up to Masada and float in the Dead Sea. Then you head north to the Golan Heights, Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, and finish on the Mediterranean coast in Caesarea, Haifa, Rosh Hanikra and Acre.
Day 1 covers the Old City and modern Jerusalem and ends at Yad Vashem. Day 2 goes to Jericho and Bethlehem for the Church of the Nativity. Day 3 drops through the Judean Desert to Masada and the Dead Sea. Day 4 climbs to Katzrin and Mount Bental in the Golan Heights. Day 5 visits Nazareth, Capernaum and the Jordan River on the Sea of Galilee. Day 6 follows the coast from Caesarea to the Baha'i Gardens, the Rosh Hanikra grottoes and Old Acre.
This 6 day Israel tour suits first-time visitors, couples, friends and families who want a full picture of Israel in under a week. It mixes faith, history and nature, so it works whether you come for the holy sites, the archaeology or the views. Six days lets you cover the south, the center and the north without packing two regions into one exhausting day. Each evening your hotel is already booked, so all you do is enjoy the ride.
Day 1 pickup is from your hotel in Tel Aviv at around 07:15 or in Jerusalem at around 08:30, and the exact time is confirmed the day before. You stay 5 nights in tourist class hotels with breakfast, listed on your voucher. Choose a double, triple or single room, and the booking form shows the per person price. Because the hotel nights are pre-paid, the 6 day Israel tour is non-refundable. Prefer a shorter trip? Look at the 5 day Israel tour, the Bethlehem and Jericho tour or all Israel package tours. Numbers match the itinerary below. Solid lines are walking legs, dashed lines are drives. Map is for orientation only.
Pickup is at around 07:15 from Tel Aviv hotels and around 08:30 from Jerusalem hotels. Pickups can start 30 to 60 minutes earlier, and the exact time is sent the day before. Keep your passport with you on every day of the tour.
Your first stop is the lookout on the Mount of Olives, above the oldest Jewish cemetery in the world. From here your guide shows you where the two Temples stood and points out Gethsemane and the Kidron Valley.
Walk through Zion Gate into the Old City of Jerusalem and cross the Armenian and Jewish Quarters. You see the Byzantine Cardo with its Crusader-era shops and then the Western Wall, the most sacred place of Jewish prayer.
Follow the Way of the Cross through the Old City to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built over Golgotha and the tomb of Jesus. Your guide explains the layers of Byzantine and Crusader building inside.
A short drive through the new city brings you to Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust memorial and museum. Plan for a quiet, moving visit. Children under 10 are not admitted to the museum.
Check in to your tourist class hotel, named on your booking voucher. The evening is yours, and breakfast is served the next morning.
After hotel pickup, drive east into the Judean Desert, past the Inn of the Good Samaritan and the view into Wadi Qelt with the Monastery of St. George. A marker shows where the road dips below sea level.
Visit Jericho, the City of Palms, where Joshua's trumpets brought down the walls. You see the sycamore tree linked to Zacchaeus and look up at the Mount of Temptation.
In Bethlehem you cross Manger Square and enter the Church of the Nativity through its low doorway. When it is not too crowded, you can go down to the grotto where a silver star marks the birthplace of Jesus. Next door is St. Catherine's Church and the cave of St. Jerome.
End the day at the Shepherds' Field, where the angel brought the news of the birth of Jesus. Then ride back to your hotel.
Relax at your hotel for the night. Breakfast is served before the desert day.
After hotel pickup, head down from Jerusalem into the wilderness, stopping at the sea level marker for a view across the desert. The salt-white shore of the Dead Sea soon comes into view.
Ride the cable car up to Masada, where King Herod built palaces, cisterns and a bathhouse on a sheer desert plateau. Your guide tells the dramatic story of the last Jewish rebels against Rome. The park entrance with the cable car is paid on the day and is not part of the package price.
Drive north along the shore past the Ein Gedi oasis, where David hid from Saul. You also pass Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in hillside caves.
Finish with time on the beach at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Lie back in the mineral-rich water and let the salt keep you afloat.
Return to your hotel to rest. Breakfast is served before the drive north.
After hotel pickup, travel north through the Jezreel Valley, with Megiddo in view. At the south end of the Sea of Galilee you stop for a wide view of the lake and the Golan rising behind it.
Climb into the Golan Heights past Hamat Gader and the Shalom Observatory to Katzrin. You explore a restored Talmudic village of black basalt with a synagogue and olive press, then the Golan Antiquities Museum and its story of ancient Gamla.
Walk through former Syrian bunkers and trenches on Mount Bental, taken in the Six Day War. From the top you look straight into Syria and see why this plateau matters so much.
Spend the night at your hotel, confirmed on your voucher. Breakfast is served in the morning.
After hotel pickup, stop at the Mount of Precipice above the Jezreel Valley. In Nazareth you visit the Basilica of the Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph next to it.
Pass Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine, and reach Capernaum on the lake shore. Here you see the house of Peter and the Church of the Multiplication nearby.
Drive along the Sea of Galilee past Tiberias to the place where the Jordan River leaves the lake. You can join a baptism ceremony here if you wish. On the way back you see Mount Tabor.
Check in for the last night of the tour. Breakfast is served before the coastal day.
After hotel pickup, follow the coast to Caesarea, Herod's Roman port city. You see the restored theater, still used for concerts, the hippodrome and the temple platform above the old harbor.
Stop to see the golden-domed Baha'i Shrine and its 19 terraced gardens falling down the slope of Mount Carmel toward Haifa. Have your camera ready, because the view over the bay is superb.
At Rosh Hanikra, a short cable car takes you down to sea caves carved into white chalk cliffs. On the way back you explore the Old City of Acre, with its Crusader halls, Ottoman walls and busy market.
Ride back in the air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, where your six days end. You have now seen Israel from the Dead Sea to the Lebanese border.
