5 Day Jordan Tour: Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba

  • Duration5 days
  • StartsMorning, hotel pickup
  • GuideEnglish
  • Group sizeUp to 15 travelers
  • CancellationNon-refundable: this tour includes pre-paid hotel nights.

Overview

This 5 day Jordan tour packs the country's headline sights into a single, well-paced loop: Amman's Roman ruins and old market, Mount Nebo and the Crusader castle of Karak, a full day in Petra, a jeep ride through Wadi Rum and a night by the Red Sea in Aqaba. You fly into Amman, we meet you at the airport, and four hotel nights with breakfast are already arranged.

Day 1 is Amman, with the Citadel, the Roman Theater, the Jordan Archaeological Museum and the downtown souq. Day 2 follows the road south past Mount Nebo and Karak Castle to Petra. Day 3 is all about Petra, from the Siq to the Treasury, temples and caves. Day 4 takes you into Wadi Rum on a 4x4 safari and on to the beach in Aqaba, and on day 5 you drive back to Amman for your flight home.

This trip suits travelers with limited vacation time who still want more than a quick Petra visit, as well as couples and families who like a mix of history, desert and beach. The 5 day Jordan tour gives Petra a whole day of its own and spends two nights there, so you are not rushing the most important site. Ending in Aqaba also means you finish with a swim and an easy evening instead of more touring.

We meet you at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, and the last day ends with a drive back to the same airport. Choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels, priced per person in a double room for 2 or more travelers or as a single room if you travel solo. Children pay a lower child rate, and the booking form shows the exact price for your hotel level and travelers. The 5 day Jordan tour is non-refundable because the hotel nights are pre-paid. The booking form shows the exact price for your hotel level and travelers.

Is the Jordan visa included?

The visa is not listed as included. Visa rules depend on your nationality, so check them before you travel. Keep cash for any visa costs and tips.

Where does the tour start and end?

It starts at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman on day 1 and ends there on day 5. Book a flight that lands early on day 1, since the city tour starts later that morning, and leave enough time on day 5 for the drive from Aqaba.

Where will I sleep?

You spend one night in Amman, two nights in Petra and one night in Aqaba near the beach. Choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels when you book. Hotel names are sent with your confirmation.

Can children join?

Yes. Children pay a lower child rate on the double room options, and the booking form shows the exact price. Petra involves a lot of walking, so plan breaks for younger kids.

Spring and autumn are the most comfortable. Summer is hot in Petra and Wadi Rum, while winter brings cool days and cold nights, especially in Petra, so pack layers. Our Israel, Jordan and Egypt travel guide has more planning tips.

Can I cancel the tour?

The tour is non-refundable because the hotel nights are paid in advance when you book. If your plans change, contact us and we will try to help with a new date, subject to availability. Full details are in our booking terms.

Yes. You can add a 3-star hotel night before or after the tour on the booking form, in a double room or as a single room for solo travelers.
