Israel Package Tours
See the sights first, then slow right down: this Jerusalem and Dead Sea spa 2 day tour pairs a full guided day in Jerusalem with a lazy beach day at the Dead Sea. You explore the Old City, the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Yad Vashem on day 1. On day 2 there is no fortress to climb and no packed schedule, just mineral mud, warm salty water and time to unwind.
Your first day begins on the Mount of Olives and moves through Zion Gate, the Armenian and Jewish Quarters, the Byzantine Cardo and the Western Wall. From there you walk the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulchre, exit through the market and Jaffa Gate, take a short drive around the new city and end at Yad Vashem. On the second day you descend more than 400 meters below sea level to the Dead Sea. You cover yourself in black mud, float in the water, book a spa treatment if you like, and pass the Qumran caves on the way home.
The Jerusalem and Dead Sea spa 2 day tour is a good fit for couples, friends and travelers who want culture without wearing themselves out. It also suits anyone who has already seen Masada, or simply prefers a beach to a ruin. Doing Jerusalem and the Dead Sea in one day leaves little time for either. Splitting them gives you a proper look at the Old City and a long, relaxed soak, with a hotel bed in between.
We pick you up at your hotel in Tel Aviv at about 07:15 or in Jerusalem at about 08:30, and bring you back to your hotel at the end of day 2. You stay 1 night in a tourist class hotel with breakfast, named on your voucher. Pick a double, triple or single room. Your per-person price for the date, room type and pickup city appears in the booking form before you pay. The package is non-refundable because it includes a pre-paid hotel night, and spa treatments are optional and paid on the spot. Only have one day? Look at the Dead Sea relaxation tour or the Jerusalem and Dead Sea day tour, or explore underground on the City of David tour. Choose your date and book your Jerusalem and Dead Sea spa 2 day tour today.
Numbers match the itinerary below. Solid lines are walking legs, dashed lines are drives. Map is for orientation only.
Your guide meets you at your hotel in Tel Aviv at about 07:15, or in Jerusalem at about 08:30. Pickups can start 30 to 60 minutes earlier, and we confirm the exact time the day before. Pack a small overnight bag with beach things for tomorrow.
The day opens with the best postcard view of Jerusalem, looking down from the Mount of Olives over its ancient Jewish graves. Your guide explains where Solomon's Temple and the Second Temple stood on the Temple Mount. Below you lie the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations and the burial tombs of the Kidron Valley.
Pass through Zion Gate into the Old City of Jerusalem and cross the Armenian Quarter. In the Jewish Quarter you walk the Byzantine Cardo, the city's main street 1,500 years ago. Then you reach the Western Wall, a focus of Jewish prayer ever since Roman troops destroyed the Second Temple in 70 CE.
Walk the Via Dolorosa through the lanes of the Old City to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The church holds the traditional sites of the crucifixion and burial of Jesus. It was damaged in the Persian and Muslim conquests and rebuilt by the Crusaders, who kept much of the older structure.
Exit the Old City through the market and Jaffa Gate for a quick look at the modern city. Finish at Yad Vashem, Israel's memorial to the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. Its exhibits also honor the Righteous Among the Nations. Please note that children under 10 are not admitted.
Your tourist class hotel for the night is listed on your booking voucher, so check in and drop your bags. Dinner is not included, so the evening is free to eat where you like or turn in early. Enjoy breakfast in the morning before your Dead Sea day.
After breakfast you head south and east from Jerusalem, past the Inn of the Good Samaritan. A short stop at the sea level marker shows how far you still have to drop. Look for Jericho in the distance, where Joshua's trumpets brought down the walls.
Reach the shore of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on land on Earth. People have come here for its healing reputation since ancient times, and Cleopatra is said to be among them. The air is dry and rich in minerals, and the view across the blue water to the Moab Mountains is wide and calm.
Scoop up the black Dead Sea mud and spread it over your skin, then let it dry in the sun. Rinse off in the sea, lie back and float, since the water is too salty to sink in. Minerals such as magnesium from this water end up in skin products around the world.
The afternoon is yours to relax on the beach, swim again or read in the shade. If you want extra pampering, you can book a spa treatment on site and pay for it locally. Your guide lets you know when it is time to rinse off and change.
On the way back you pass Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in caves above the shore. The scrolls are about 2,000 years old and include the oldest known copies of books of the Hebrew Bible.
Sit back and relax on the drive back to your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. Drop-off is in the evening, with the exact time depending on traffic.
You choose your pickup city when you book. We confirm the exact pickup time and place by email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.
