Overview

Two ancient worlds, one trip: this 10 day Israel and Egypt tour pairs the holy sites of Jerusalem and the Galilee with the pyramids of Giza and the bazaars of Cairo. You start at Ben Gurion Airport, tour Israel from a Tel Aviv base, then fly south and continue to Cairo. A licensed guide, transportation, entrance fees, hotels with breakfast and the internal flight are all part of the package.

Day 1 is your arrival in Tel Aviv. Day 2 covers Jerusalem old and new, day 3 the highlights of the Galilee and day 4 the desert fortress of Masada. Day 5 is free, and day 6 visits Caesarea, Megiddo, Haifa and Acre. On day 7 you fly to Ramon Airport near Eilat and transfer to Cairo. Day 8 brings the Egyptian Museum, the pyramids and the Sphinx, day 9 Saqqara and the Khan el-Khalili bazaar, and day 10 is your transfer to Cairo airport.

This Israel and Egypt tour suits travelers who want to compare two great cultures in one journey, from Bible history to the age of the pharaohs. Ten days give each country real time, with a free day in the middle so you can rest or explore Tel Aviv on your own. It works well for couples, friends and first-time visitors to the region who would rather leave the planning to someone else.

A driver meets you at Ben Gurion Airport on day 1, and touring days start with pickup from your Tel Aviv hotel. The tour ends with a transfer to Cairo airport. You choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels, priced per person in a double room for 2 or more travelers, or a single room if you travel solo, and the booking form shows the exact price for your hotel level and number of travelers. The Israel and Egypt tour departs daily, subject to availability, and is non-refundable because hotels and the flight are pre-paid. Prefer a shorter trip? Frequently asked questions

What does the Israel and Egypt tour price include?

The price includes a licensed guide and assistance, hotel pickup and drop-off, air-conditioned transportation, entrance fees on the itinerary, the internal flight with transfers, 9 hotel nights with breakfast and some lunches. The booking form shows the exact price for your hotel level and number of travelers.

Do I need a visa for Egypt, and are border fees included?

The Egypt visa and the border tax are not included in the tour price. They are paid on the way into Egypt, so keep cash on hand for day 7. Check the entry rules for your nationality before you travel. Egypt runs its official e-visa service at visa2egypt.gov.eg, so check your nationality there before you travel.

What passport do I need?

Bring a passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates, and carry it every day. You need it for the internal flight, the border crossing into Egypt and hotel check-in. Many visa-exempt travelers also need an approved ETA-IL before flying to Israel, so check the official ETA-IL site.

Where does the tour start and end?

The tour starts at Ben Gurion Airport, where a driver meets you on day 1, and ends with a transfer to Cairo airport on day 10. On touring days in Israel you are picked up from your hotel in Tel Aviv.

Which hotels are used?

You stay 6 nights in Tel Aviv and 3 nights in Cairo, all with breakfast. You choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels when you book, and hotel names are listed on your voucher.

Can children join the tour?

Yes. Children sharing a double room with adults pay a lower child rate, shown on the booking form. Yad Vashem does not admit children under 10.

How fit do I need to be?

A normal level of fitness is enough. Expect walking on stone streets and steps in Jerusalem and Acre, on top of Masada and on sandy ground at Giza and Saqqara. Day 7 is a long travel day.

When is the best time to go?

Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for both countries. Summer is very hot at Masada and around the pyramids, so pack light clothing, a hat and plenty of water. Our Israel, Jordan and Egypt travel guide has more planning tips.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

This tour is non-refundable because hotels and the internal flight are pre-paid as soon as you book. If your plans change, contact us and we will try to move your dates, subject to availability. Full details are in our booking terms.

Can I add an Alexandria day tour or extra nights?
