This private Petra Wadi Rum tour from Tel Aviv packs three of southern Jordan's best experiences into three days: a guided visit to Petra, a private 4x4 jeep tour in Wadi Rum with a night in a desert tent, and an early morning hot air balloon flight over the red sands. Domestic flights replace the long drive from the center of Israel.
You fly from Ben Gurion Airport at about 06:30 to Ramon Airport, take a local shuttle, paid locally, to the Eilat central bus station, and meet your driver there at 08:30 for the Arava border. A Jordanian driver takes you on to Petra, where your guide meets you at the Visitor Center at around 11:30 for a tour of the Treasury, the Roman Theater, temples, tombs and caves. Day 2 brings a private two-hour jeep tour in Wadi Rum and a night in a tent. On day 3 you rise early for the balloon, then head back to the border and fly to Tel Aviv, landing at about 22:00.
Being private, the trip moves at your pace, with your own guide in Petra and your own jeep in the desert. It suits couples, honeymooners, families and small groups of friends who want something more memorable than a standard bus tour. Each place gets its own day, so this private Petra Wadi Rum tour from Tel Aviv never feels rushed, and there is usually time in Eilat for a swim or a meal before the flight home.
Choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels for your night in Petra, priced per person in a shared double room for 2 or more travelers with a lower child rate, or as a single room if you travel solo. Your second night is in a tent in Wadi Rum. The booking form shows the exact price for your option and number of travelers. The tour departs on set days, so check the calendar for open dates. Because the flights and accommodation are pre-paid, this private Petra Wadi Rum tour from Tel Aviv is non-refundable. Short on time? Compare the private Petra day tour from Tel Aviv with flights, the Petra 2 day tour from Tel Aviv or the longer 7 day Israel and Jordan tour. Pick your date and book today.

Your private Petra Wadi Rum tour from Tel Aviv begins with a domestic flight at about 06:30 from Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv to Ramon Airport. After landing, take the local shuttle bus to the Eilat central bus station. The shuttle is paid locally and is not included.
At 08:30 a driver picks you up at the central bus station in Eilat and drives you to the Arava border, where he helps with the border procedures. A Jordanian driver waits on the other side to take you to Petra.
At around 11:30 you meet your guide at the Visitor Center of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage site with more than 800 structures. The tour covers the famous Treasury, the Roman Theater, temples, tombs, caves and more. Your guide shows you as much as possible in the time you have.
After the tour you check in to your hotel in Petra at the level you booked and enjoy a free evening.
After breakfast, at about 10:00, a driver takes you to Wadi Rum, a UNESCO-listed desert where Bedouins have lived for hundreds of years. They still live in tents of camel hair, and the community has built one school for boys and one for girls.
Your private two-hour jeep tour shows you how the Bedouins live, the sandstone formations that pop out of the desert sand, and paintings on the mountainsides made by the Nabataeans thousands of years ago.
Tonight you sleep in a tent in the Wadi Rum desert, surrounded by the quiet of the open sands.
Wake up early for the transfer to the balloon site. You are served refreshments while the crew readies the hot air balloon, then you spend about an hour in the air, seeing all of Wadi Rum from above. The whole experience takes 2 to 3 hours.
After the flight you are driven back to the Arava border and on toward the airport. There is usually a couple of hours to walk around Eilat, swim in the Red Sea, do some shopping or have a bite to eat.
Your return flight lands in Tel Aviv at about 22:00, where the tour ends.
You choose your pickup city when you book. We confirm the exact pickup time and place by email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.
