This 8 day jordan tour from amman covers far more than the desert in its name. Over a week you see the castles of the Eastern Desert, the Dead Sea, Roman Jerash, the mosaics of Madaba, two days at Petra and a jeep ride through Wadi Rum. Hotels with breakfast and dinner, entrance fees, transport and your Jordan visa arrangements are all part of the package.
You arrive in Amman on day 1. Day 2 heads east to the desert castles of Kharana, Amra and Azraq, then down to the Dead Sea. Day 3 is an Amman city drive, Jerash and Ajloun Castle. Day 4 runs south through Madaba, Mount Nebo and Little Petra to Petra, where you spend day 5 exploring the Rose City. Day 6 is a jeep ride and a night in Wadi Rum, day 7 is the drive back to Amman, and day 8 is your airport transfer.
It suits first-time visitors who want to see the whole country without renting a car or booking each hotel. Eight days means you are never rushed: Petra gets a full day of its own, the north and the desert castles get a day each, and you sleep in Wadi Rum instead of just passing through. For couples, families and friends, this 8 day Jordan tour from Amman is an easy way to cover the classics at a comfortable pace.
You are met at Queen Alia International Airport and taken to your hotel, and on the last day you are driven back for your flight. Choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels, per person in a double room for 2 or more travelers or a single room if you travel solo. A lower child rate applies on the double room options, and the booking form shows the exact price for your hotel level and number of travelers. The tour departs daily, subject to availability, and is non-refundable because the hotels are pre-paid. Coming from Israel? Numbers match the itinerary below. Solid lines are walking legs, dashed lines are drives. Map is for orientation only.
Our team meets you at Queen Alia International Airport and helps you through arrival. A driver takes you to your hotel in Amman, and dinner is included tonight. There is no touring today, so you can rest after your flight. Overnight in Amman.
After breakfast you drive into the Eastern Desert to see Qasr Kharana, Quseir Amra with its painted walls, and Azraq Castle, where Lawrence of Arabia stayed and wrote part of Seven Pillars of Wisdom. In the afternoon you head down to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, before returning to the capital. Overnight in Amman with breakfast and dinner.
Start with a panoramic drive around Amman, then head north to Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East, with colonnaded streets, temples, theaters and baths. A local English-speaking guide shows you around the site. You then continue to Ajloun Castle, built in 1184 by one of Saladin's generals to guard the routes into the Jordan Valley. Overnight in Amman with breakfast and dinner.
Drive south to Madaba, home of the famous 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land in St. George's Church. The route continues past Mount Nebo to Little Petra, also called Siq al-Barid, a smaller Nabatean site with buildings carved straight into a sandstone canyon. In the evening you reach Petra and check in. Overnight in Petra with breakfast and dinner.
Today is all about Petra, the rose-red Nabatean city. A short horse ride takes you from the visitor center to the start of the Siq, a gorge of about one kilometer between high cliffs, and a local guide walks with you as far as Qasr al-Bint. Along the way you see the Treasury, hundreds of rock-cut tombs, a Roman-style theater, temples and colonnaded streets. Overnight in Petra with breakfast and dinner.
After breakfast you drive south to Wadi Rum, the desert valley T.E. Lawrence called vast, echoing and god-like. A jeep takes you out among the sand dunes and sandstone mountains of the protected area. Afterwards you settle in for a quiet desert night. Overnight in Wadi Rum with breakfast and dinner.
After breakfast you leave the desert and drive north to Amman. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the city at your own pace. This is your last night in Jordan. Overnight in Amman with breakfast and dinner.
After breakfast you are driven to Queen Alia International Airport for your onward flight. This is where the tour ends. Want an extra night? You can add one on the booking form.
You choose your pickup city when you book. We confirm the exact pickup time and place by email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.
