Overview

This Israel Jordan Egypt Nile cruise tour fits the Holy Land, Petra and the world of the Pharaohs into 12 days and finishes with three nights on a 5-star ship between Aswan and Luxor. Touring starts on day 1, with four guided days in Israel, then a flight south to Petra and Wadi Rum, two days in Cairo and a classic Nile cruise to end the trip.

Days 1 to 4 cover Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, Caesarea, Haifa and Acre, Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and Masada and the Dead Sea. On day 5 you fly to Ramon Airport and cross into Jordan for Petra, with a night in a Wadi Rum desert tent. Day 6 starts with a jeep safari, gives you free time in Eilat and ends with a night transfer to Cairo. Days 7 and 8 take in the Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, Khan el-Khalili, Saqqara and Old Cairo, and days 9 to 12 are on the Nile, from Philae to Kom Ombo, Edfu, the Valley of the Kings and Karnak.

This Israel Jordan Egypt Nile cruise tour suits travelers who want the full three-country picture, including Upper Egypt, without committing to two weeks or more. There is no arrival day and the drive to Cairo happens overnight, which is how so much fits into 12 days. It works well for active couples, friends and pilgrims who are happy with a few early starts in exchange for a lot of sightseeing.

Day 1 starts with a morning pickup from your hotel, and the exact time and meeting point are confirmed after booking. Since touring begins right away, plan to arrive the day before, and add a pre-tour night or an airport transfer if you need one. Choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels, priced per person in a double room for 2 or more travelers or as a single room if you travel solo, and the booking form shows the exact price for your hotel level and travelers. The tour departs daily, subject to availability. Because hotels, flights and the cruise are pre-paid, the Israel Jordan Egypt Nile cruise tour is non-refundable. Compare it with our 20 day Israel, Jordan and Egypt tour, the Petra and Wadi Rum 2 day tour from Eilat or our Israel package tours. Pick your date and book today.

You then tour the Bahai Gardens and Shrine in Haifa and ride the cable car down into the sea grottoes of Rosh Hanikra. A walk through the Crusader city and the old Turkish prison in Acre ends the day before your second hotel night.

  3. 3
    Day 3Jerusalem and Bethlehem

Start with the view from the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations, then enter the Old City of Jerusalem through Zion Gate for the Armenian Quarter, the Cardo, the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall. After the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the markets, you cross into Bethlehem for Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity, with its silver star and the Altar of the Three Wise Men. Bring your passport, and note that Israeli citizens cannot enter Bethlehem. You spend the night at your hotel.

  4. 4

Drive through the Judean Desert past the Inn of the Good Samaritan and the sea level marker, with Jericho in the distance. A cable car takes you to the top of Masada to see Herod's palaces, the Roman barracks, the synagogue and the bathhouse. After a local lunch stop you swim and float in the Dead Sea, then return to your hotel for the night.

  5. 5

You cross back into Eilat and have several free hours for the beach, a walk or dinner. At 22:00 your driver collects you for the Taba border and the 10-hour overland drive to Cairo, so there is no hotel tonight.

  9. 9
Day 9Flight to Aswan and Nile cruise check-in

An early transfer takes you to Cairo's domestic airport for the flight to Aswan, where you are met and taken to your 5-star cruise ship for three nights. In the afternoon you see the Aswan High Dam and take a motorboat to Agilika Island for the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. After breakfast on board, the ship sails to Kom Ombo for a guided visit to the double temple of Sobek and Haroeris. Today you explore the West Bank of Luxor, entering three royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings and visiting the Theban Necropolis, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. You return to the ship for lunch and a free afternoon. Dinner and traditional entertainment follow on board, with an optional sound and light show at Karnak on request, and you sleep on the ship.
