Overview

This biblical Israel and Jordan tour packs the holy sites of the Gospels and the rose-red city of Petra into one guided week. You walk the Old City of Jerusalem twice, follow Jesus through Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, float in the Dead Sea, stand in Manger Square in Bethlehem and finish with a full day in Petra. Breakfast, entrance fees on the route and an internal flight to Eilat are part of the package.

Day 1 covers Jerusalem old and new, from the Mount of Olives to the Holy Sepulchre and Yad Vashem. Day 2 follows the coast to Caesarea, Haifa, Rosh Hanikra and Acre. Day 3 is Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, and day 4 heads south to Masada, Qumran and the Dead Sea. Day 5 traces the places where Jesus walked in Jerusalem, and day 6 visits Jericho and Bethlehem before your flight to Eilat. Day 7 crosses into Jordan for Petra.

This biblical Israel and Jordan tour suits Christian pilgrims, church groups, couples and first-time visitors who want the main Bible sites with a licensed guide and no planning on their side. Seven days is the sweet spot: long enough to give Jerusalem two separate days and add Petra, short enough to fit a one-week vacation. Each day has one region, so you are never rushing between distant sites.

Days 1 to 6 start with pickup at 07:15 to 07:30 near the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv, and your hotel is close by. On day 7 you are collected from your Eilat hotel. You choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels, priced per person in a double room for 2 or more travelers, or a single room if you travel solo, and the booking form shows the exact price for your hotel level and number of travelers. The biblical Israel and Jordan tour departs daily, subject to availability, and is non-refundable because the hotel nights are pre-paid. Short on time? Frequently asked questions

What does the biblical Israel and Jordan tour price include?

The price covers guided touring on all 7 days with licensed guides in Israel and Petra, air-conditioned transportation with a driver, hotel pickup and drop-off, entrance fees as listed in the itinerary, 6 hotel nights with breakfast, one lunch in Petra and the internal flight to Eilat. The booking form shows the exact price for your hotel level and number of travelers.

Do I need a visa for Jordan, and are border fees included?

The Jordan visa and the border tax are not included in the tour price. They are paid at the border, so keep cash on hand for day 7. Check the entry rules for your nationality before you travel. Our Israel Jordan border crossing guide explains each step.

What passport rules should I know about?

Carry your passport every day of the tour, since it is needed at checkpoints and for the Jordan border crossing. Make sure it is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. Israeli citizens cannot enter Bethlehem or Jericho, which are in Area A, so they cannot join day 6 as planned. Please contact us before booking if this applies to you. Many visa-exempt travelers also need an approved ETA-IL before flying to Israel, so check the official ETA-IL site.

Where is pickup each morning?

On days 1 to 6, pickup is at about 07:15 to 07:30 at the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv, and your own hotel is a short walk away. Your voucher includes Google directions to the pickup point. On day 7 you are collected from your hotel in Eilat at about 08:20 to 08:30.

Which hotels will I stay in?

You stay 6 nights on a bed and breakfast basis: the first five near the pickup point in Tel Aviv and the last one in Eilat. You choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels when you book, and hotel names are listed on your voucher.

Can children join this tour?

Yes. Children sharing a double room with adults pay a lower child rate, and the booking form shows it. Note that Yad Vashem does not admit children under 10, and the days are long, so this tour suits kids who are comfortable with early starts.

How fit do I need to be?

A normal level of fitness is enough. Expect a lot of walking on stone streets, steps and slopes in Jerusalem, and uneven ground at Masada. Petra is the most demanding day, with several kilometers of walking on sand and rock.

When is the best time to take this tour?

Spring and autumn bring the most comfortable weather for walking in Jerusalem and Petra. Summer is hot, especially at the Dead Sea and in Petra, so bring a hat and plenty of water. Winter days are cooler and can be rainy, so pack warm layers. Our Israel, Jordan and Egypt travel guide has more planning tips.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

This tour is non-refundable because the hotel nights are pre-paid as soon as you book. If your plans change, contact us and we will try to move you to other dates, subject to availability. Full details are in our booking terms.

Can I add extra nights or an airport transfer?

Yes. You can add a pre-tour or post-tour hotel night, a lunch package for the touring days or an airport transfer when you book. Each add-on shows its price on the booking form.
