Israel Package Tours
Three Bible cities, one guide and one night in between: that is the Christian Jerusalem Bethlehem Jericho 2 day tour. Day 1 crosses the Judean Desert to Jericho, one of the oldest cities in the world, then climbs back to Bethlehem, the town where Jesus was born. Day 2 is spent in Jerusalem, tracing the last days of Jesus from the Mount of Olives to the Via Dolorosa.
Day 1 starts with the drive past the Inn of the Good Samaritan and a view of St. George's Monastery clinging to the cliffs of Wadi Qelt. In Jericho you see the sycamore tree linked to Zacchaeus and look up at the Mount of Temptation. Back in the hills, Bethlehem brings Manger Square, the Church of the Nativity, St. Catherine's Church with the grotto of St. Jerome, and Shepherds' Field. On day 2 you visit the Chapel of the Ascension, the Pater Noster church, Dominus Flevit, Gethsemane, the Pools of Bethesda and the Lithostrotos before walking the Way of the Cross.
The Christian Jerusalem Bethlehem Jericho 2 day tour is a strong choice for Bible readers, pilgrimage groups and curious travelers who want more than the usual Jerusalem highlights. Jericho and Bethlehem are both in the West Bank, with checkpoints and desert roads in between, so cramming them into one day with Jerusalem leaves little time at each site. Spreading the route over two days lets you see the desert, the birthplace of Jesus and the Mount of Olives without watching the clock.
We pick you up at your hotel in Tel Aviv (around 07:15) or Jerusalem (around 08:30) and drop you back there at the end of day 2. Your night is in a tourist class hotel with breakfast, named on your voucher. Prices are per person for a double, triple or single room, and the booking form shows the exact price for your date and pickup city. The Christian Jerusalem Bethlehem Jericho 2 day tour is non-refundable because the hotel night is pre-paid. Short on time? Try the one-day Bethlehem and Jericho tour or the Jericho, Dead Sea and Jordan River tour, or add the north with our Nazareth and Sea of Galilee tour. Check the calendar and lock in your seats today.
Numbers match the itinerary below. Solid lines are walking legs, dashed lines are drives. Map is for orientation only.
Your guide picks you up at your hotel in Tel Aviv at around 07:15, or in Jerusalem at around 08:30. Pickups can begin 30 to 60 minutes before that, and we confirm the time the day before. Keep your passport handy, as you will need it today.
Leaving Jerusalem, you head east past the Inn of the Good Samaritan into the wild hills of the Judean Desert. Look out for the 5th century St. George's Monastery, built into the cliffs of Wadi Qelt. A quick stop at the sea level marker shows just how far below the Mediterranean you are heading.
Arrive in Jericho, about 258 meters below sea level and known as the City of Palms. This is where Joshua's army brought down the walls, and where the tax collector Zacchaeus climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus. You stop at the old sycamore and look up at the Mount of Temptation, where Jesus fasted for forty days.
Drive back up into the hills to Bethlehem, home of King David's family and birthplace of Jesus. Duck through the small Door of Humility into the Church of the Nativity, first built in the 4th century and rebuilt in the 6th. A star in the grotto below marks the place of the birth, but busy days can stop visitors from going down, so it is not always possible.
Next door is the Church of St. Catherine, where Midnight Mass is broadcast every Christmas. Underneath, a set of caves includes the room where St. Jerome worked for years on the Vulgate, his Latin translation of the Bible.
The last stop of the day is Shepherds' Field, where the angel brought the good news to the shepherds on the first Christmas night. It is a peaceful place to pause, read the story from Luke and look out over the fields.
Check in to your tourist class hotel, as listed on your booking voucher. Spend a free evening at your own pace, with dinner on your own. Breakfast is included the next morning.
Begin at the Chapel of the Ascension, where tradition places the last footprint of Jesus on earth. Then step into the Pater Noster church, whose walls show the Lord's Prayer in over 100 languages, around a quiet Crusader cloister.
From the slope you see the whole Old City and the Temple Mount across the valley. Walk down to Dominus Flevit, the teardrop chapel where Jesus wept over Jerusalem, and on to the Church of All Nations in the garden of Gethsemane, where he prayed before his arrest.
Cross the Kidron Valley to Lions' Gate. Inside, the ruins of the Pools of Bethesda recall the healing story in the Gospel of John. Beside them is the Crusader Church of St. Anne, built over the grotto said to be the birthplace of Mary.
Go down into the cellars of the Sisters of Zion convent to see an ancient cistern and the Lithostrotos, Roman paving stones linked to the trial of Jesus. From here you walk the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross that pilgrims follow toward Golgotha.
Your guide wraps up the trip and the vehicle takes you back to your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. In just two days you have stood in three of the most important cities in the Bible.
You choose your pickup city when you book. We confirm the exact pickup time and place by email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.
