Israel Package Tours
Northern Israel packs Roman ruins, Crusader walls, volcanic plateaus and mountain springs into a short drive, and this Galilee and Golan 3 day tour gives you time to see it properly. You follow the Mediterranean coast from Caesarea to Rosh Hanikra and Acre, climb into the Golan Heights, then finish among the springs of Banias and the old lanes of Safed. All three days are fully guided, and you sleep two nights at a kibbutz guesthouse in the north.
Day 1 covers Herod's port city at Caesarea, the Baha'i Gardens in Haifa, the sea grottoes of Rosh Hanikra and the Crusader city of Acre. Day 2 is all about the Golan: a lookout over the Sea of Galilee, the Shalom Observatory, the ancient village and museum at Katzrin and the old Syrian bunkers on Mount Bental. Day 3 starts with a short look around the kibbutz, then visits Banias, Nimrod Fortress and the synagogues and Artists' Quarter of Safed.
This Galilee and Golan 3 day tour suits history lovers, nature fans and anyone who has already seen Jerusalem and wants the green, quieter side of Israel. The north is spread out, so a single day trip means long hours on the road and quick photo stops. Sleeping up north cuts the driving and lets you enjoy each region, from an unhurried walk on the walls of Acre to the waterfalls at Banias.
Pickup is from your hotel in Tel Aviv at around 07:15 or in Jerusalem at around 06:00, and you are dropped back in either city after day 3. Both nights are at a kibbutz guesthouse with breakfast, named on your booking voucher. Rooms sleep a maximum of 2 adults, so you choose a double room for two travelers sharing or a single room. The booking form shows the exact price for your room type and date, and because the hotel nights are pre-paid, this Galilee and Golan 3 day tour is non-refundable. Short on time? Try the Galilee and Golan Heights 2 day tour, the Golan Heights day tour or our Caesarea, Haifa and Acre day tour. The tour currently departs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so pick an open date on the calendar and book your seats today.
Numbers match the itinerary below. Solid lines are walking legs, dashed lines are drives. Map is for orientation only.
Your first stop is Caesarea, the port city King Herod built and named after Caesar. Walk through the Roman theater that still hosts concerts, the remains of the hippodrome and a temple platform that once looked over a busy harbor. Sand covered much of the city for centuries, which is why so much survived.
Continue up the coast to Haifa for a stop at the Baha'i Gardens. Nineteen terraces of flowers and clipped lawns step down Mount Carmel toward the bay, with the golden-domed shrine at their center.
At Israel's northern tip, on the border with Lebanon, you go down the white chalk cliff by cable car to the Rosh Hanikra grottoes. Inside, the sea surges through tunnels and caves carved by thousands of years of waves.
Heading back south you stop in Acre (Akko), the best preserved Crusader city in the country. You see the walls and moat that stopped Napoleon, Crusader remains, the Ottoman-era prison and the lively market where people still live inside the old stone buildings.
Check in at a kibbutz guesthouse in northern Israel, named on your booking voucher. Dinner is not included, so the evening is yours to relax. Breakfast is served the next morning before day 2.
After breakfast you set off from the guesthouse to a lookout above the southern end of the Sea of Galilee, with the Golan Heights rising behind the lake. You then cross the Jordan River and climb past Hamat Gader, where the Romans enjoyed hot spring baths almost 2,000 years ago.
From this high viewpoint on the Golan the whole lake spreads out below you, with the city of Tiberias on the far shore. Your guide explains why these heights have mattered so much to every army that held them.
Walk through a partly restored village from the Talmudic period, with a basalt synagogue, stone houses and an olive press. In the town of Katzrin, the Golan Antiquities Museum shows finds from the region and tells the story of Gamla, a Jewish city from the Second Temple era.
End the day on Mount Bental, among bunkers and trenches captured from the Syrian army in 1967. From the top you look across the UN buffer zone, in place since 1974, to the town of Quneitra in Syria.
Return to the kibbutz guesthouse for a free evening. Breakfast is included the next morning before the final day of touring.
The day opens with a short look around the kibbutz and how this unique community works. You then drive toward the foot of Mount Hermon and the Hermon Stream, the greenest corner of the north.
At Banias you walk among the remains of a Roman city dedicated to the god Pan, set in forest, streams and waterfalls. Many visitors call it the most beautiful nature reserve in Israel.
Climb to Nimrod Fortress, a 13th century castle on a ridge with wide views over the Golan. Afterward the group stops for lunch at a Druze restaurant, which you pay for on the spot.
In Safed, the hilltop city of Jewish mysticism, you visit the Caro and Ari synagogues and stroll through the galleries of the Artists' Quarter.
After Safed you leave the Galilee and drive south in the air-conditioned vehicle. You are dropped off at your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem after three full days in the north.
You choose your pickup city when you book. We confirm the exact pickup time and place by email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.

The price covers hotel pickup and drop-off in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, a licensed English-speaking guide on all three days, an air-conditioned vehicle, 2 nights at a kibbutz guesthouse and breakfast on days 2 and 3. Carry a valid passport, since you may be asked for it at checkpoints. Modest dress is required at holy places such as the synagogues in Safed, so cover knees and shoulders on that day. Many visa-exempt travelers also need an approved ETA-IL before flying to Israel, so check the official ETA-IL site.
Walking is moderate. Expect uneven ground at Caesarea, Acre and Katzrin, slopes on Mount Bental and at Nimrod Fortress, trails at Banias and steps inside the Rosh Hanikra grottoes. Good walking shoes and a normal level of fitness are enough.
Children aged 4 and up are welcome and pay the same per person rate as adults. The tour is not suitable for children under 4.
Bring your passport, comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle. Add a light jacket for the Golan, which can be cool and windy, a scarf or cover-up for holy places, an overnight bag and some cash for lunch and tips. Our Israel, Jordan and Egypt travel guide has more planning tips.
