Israel Package Tours
Four days is the right amount of time to see Israel's north without rushing, and this Galilee Golan 4 day tour uses every one of them. You walk where Jesus taught in Nazareth and Capernaum, follow the Mediterranean coast from Caesarea to Acre, climb onto the Golan Heights and end among the waterfalls of Banias and the old lanes of Safed. Every day is fully guided, and all three nights are at a kibbutz guesthouse in the north.
Day 1 visits Mount Precipice and the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, Capernaum on the lakeshore and the Yardenit baptismal site on the Jordan River. Day 2 covers Caesarea, the Baha'i Gardens in Haifa, the Rosh Hanikra sea grottoes and the Crusader city of Acre. Day 3 is a Golan day with lake views, ancient Katzrin and Mount Bental. Day 4 brings a look around the kibbutz, Banias, Nimrod Fortress and Safed.
This Galilee Golan 4 day tour works well for Christian pilgrims, history fans and families who want more than a quick day trip from the city. Sleeping in the north means less time in the vehicle and more time at each stop, whether that is a quiet moment by the Sea of Galilee, a baptism in the Jordan River or a slow walk along the sea walls of Acre.
Pickup is from your hotel in Tel Aviv at around 07:15 or in Jerusalem at around 06:00, and you are dropped back in either city after day 4. You spend 3 nights at a kibbutz guesthouse with breakfast, named on your booking voucher. Rooms sleep a maximum of 2 adults, so choose a double room for two travelers sharing or a single room. The booking form shows the exact price for your room type and date. Because the hotel nights are pre-paid, the Galilee Golan 4 day tour is non-refundable. Want a shorter trip? See the Nazareth and Sea of Galilee 2 day tour, the Galilee and Golan Heights 2 day tour or browse all 3 to 5 day Israel tours. The tour currently departs on Mondays and Wednesdays, so choose an open date on the calendar and reserve your seats now.
Numbers match the itinerary below. Solid lines are walking legs, dashed lines are drives. Map is for orientation only.
Tel Aviv hotel pickup is at around 07:15, and Jerusalem hotel pickup is at around 06:00 because the drive north takes longer. Pickups can start 30 to 60 minutes earlier, and your exact time is confirmed the day before. The route heads up the coast, then inland across the Jezreel Valley past Tel Megiddo, the biblical Armageddon.
Your first stop is Mount Precipice above Nazareth, where an angry crowd tried to push Jesus off the cliff (Luke 4:28-30). The lookout takes in the whole Jezreel Valley and Mount Tabor.
In Nazareth you visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, built over the place where tradition says Gabriel appeared to Mary. Next door, the Church of Saint Joseph marks the spot remembered as Joseph's carpentry workshop.
Drive past Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine, to Capernaum at the foot of the Mount of Beatitudes. You see the house of Peter and visit the Church of the Multiplication, then follow the lakeshore past Tiberias with the Golan Heights across the water.
At Yardenit, where the Jordan River flows out of the Sea of Galilee, you can join a baptism ceremony if you wish. Later the road passes Mount Tabor, the traditional mountain of the Transfiguration.
Check in at a kibbutz guesthouse in northern Israel, named on your booking voucher. Dinner is not included, so the evening is free. Breakfast is served the next morning before day 2.
After breakfast you head for the coast and Caesarea, the harbor city King Herod built in honor of Caesar. Explore the Roman theater that still hosts concerts, the hippodrome and the platform of a temple that once watched over the ships. Drifting sand protected much of the city for centuries.
Drive north to Haifa for a view of the Baha'i Gardens, 19 landscaped terraces running down Mount Carmel to the city and the bay. The golden dome of the shrine sits right in the middle.
At the northern end of Israel's coast, on the Lebanese border, you go down the chalk cliff by cable car to the Rosh Hanikra grottoes. Waves have carved these caves over thousands of years, and the water glows blue inside.
On the way back you stop in Acre (Akko), a remarkably well preserved Crusader city. See the walls and moat that turned back Napoleon, Crusader remains, the Ottoman-era prison and a market where families still live inside centuries-old buildings.
Return to the kibbutz guesthouse for a free evening. Breakfast is included the next morning before the Golan day.
Set off after breakfast for a lookout above the southern end of the Sea of Galilee, with the Golan Heights rising behind the lake. You cross the Jordan River and climb past Hamat Gader, a hot spring spa the Romans used almost 2,000 years ago.
From this Golan viewpoint the lake lies right below you, with Tiberias on the opposite shore. It is easy to see why armies have fought over these heights for so long.
Explore a restored Talmudic-era village built from black basalt, with its synagogue, houses and olive press. In the town of Katzrin, the Golan Antiquities Museum presents regional finds and the story of Gamla, a Jewish city from the Second Temple period.
Finish on Mount Bental, where you walk through old Syrian bunkers and trenches taken in 1967. The view reaches across the UN buffer zone, in place since 1974, to Quneitra in Syria.
Spend your last night at the kibbutz guesthouse. Breakfast is served the next morning before the final day.
Start with a short look around the kibbutz to learn how this shared community lives and works. Then drive toward Mount Hermon and the Hermon Stream, the lushest part of the north.
At Banias you find the ruins of a Roman city dedicated to the god Pan, surrounded by forest, streams and waterfalls. It is one of the prettiest corners of Israel.
Visit Nimrod Fortress, a 13th century castle on a hilltop with sweeping views of the Golan. The group then stops for lunch at a Druze restaurant, paid for on the spot.
In Safed, the mountain city of Jewish mysticism, you visit the Caro and Ari synagogues and wander the galleries of the Artists' Quarter.
After Safed you leave the Galilee and head south in the air-conditioned vehicle. You are dropped off at your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem at the end of day 4.
You choose your pickup city when you book. We confirm the exact pickup time and place by email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.
