15 Day Israel and Egypt Tour with Nile Cruise

  • Duration15 days
  • StartsDay 1, hotel pickup
  • GuideEnglish
  • Group sizeUp to 15 travelers
  • CancellationNon-refundable: this tour includes pre-paid hotels, flights and cruise.

Overview

This 15 day Israel and Egypt tour with Nile cruise is the full journey: the holy sites of Israel, the pyramids of Giza and three nights sailing the Nile between Aswan and Luxor. You begin with a transfer from Ben Gurion Airport to the Old City of Jerusalem and finish with a transfer to Cairo airport. Along the way you float in the Dead Sea, ride a camel near the pyramids and enter royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings.

Days 1 to 6 cover Israel: arrival in Jerusalem, Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem old and new, Jericho and Bethlehem, the coast from Caesarea to Acre, and Masada with the Dead Sea. On day 7 you fly to Ramon Airport and cross at Taba for the drive to Cairo, and day 8 is free. Day 9 brings Giza, Saqqara and Memphis. Days 10 to 13 are on the Nile, from Philae and the High Dam to Kom Ombo, Edfu, the Valley of the Kings, Karnak and Luxor. Day 14 explores the Egyptian Museum, Coptic Cairo and the Citadel, and day 15 is departure.

This Israel and Egypt tour with Nile cruise suits travelers who want to see both countries properly in one trip, rather than squeezing Egypt into a quick add-on. Fifteen days leave room for a free day in Cairo and a relaxed pace on the river, where the ship becomes your hotel and the temples come to you. It is ideal for couples, retirees and first-time visitors to the region who want history, faith and scenery in one plan.

A driver meets you at Ben Gurion Airport, and later touring days start with pickup from your hotel in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. You choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star accommodation, priced per person in a double room for 2 or more travelers, or a single room if you travel solo, and the booking form shows the exact price for your level and number of travelers. The tour departs daily, subject to availability, and the Israel and Egypt tour with Nile cruise is non-refundable because hotels, flights and the cruise are pre-paid. For shorter options, see the Israel, Jordan and Egypt tour, a Cairo tour from Eilat or all Israel package tours. Choose your arrival date and book today.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Israel and Egypt tour with Nile cruise price include?

The price covers 14 nights at your chosen level, including 3 nights on the Nile cruise, breakfast every day, the lunches and dinners marked in the program, guided touring days, the transfers in the itinerary and the flights from Ben Gurion to Ramon Airport, Cairo to Aswan and Luxor to Cairo. If you want a detailed list of entrance fees before booking, contact us. The booking form shows the exact price for your level and number of travelers.

Do I need a visa for Egypt, and are border fees included?

The Egypt visa and the border tax are not part of the tour price. Our driver helps you with the procedures at the Taba border on day 7, where the fees are paid. Check the entry rules for your nationality before you travel. Egypt runs its official e-visa service at visa2egypt.gov.eg, so check your nationality there before you travel.

What passport rules should I know about?

Bring a passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates, and carry it every day. Israeli citizens cannot enter Bethlehem or Jericho, which are in Area A, so day 4 is not possible for them. Contact us before booking if this applies to you. Many visa-exempt travelers also need an approved ETA-IL before flying to Israel, so check the official ETA-IL site.

Where is pickup on touring days?

A driver meets you at Ben Gurion Airport on day 1. On day 2 pickup is at 05:50 from your Jerusalem hotel, and on later days in Israel at 08:30 from Jerusalem or 07:15 from Tel Aviv, depending on where you stay. In Egypt, guides and drivers meet you at your hotel, ship or airport.

Where will I stay?

You start in a hotel in the Old City of Jerusalem, move to Tel Aviv, then stay in Cairo, on a Nile cruise ship for 3 nights and in Cairo again at the end. You choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star accommodation when you book, and the names are listed on your voucher.

Can children join the tour?

Yes. Children sharing a double room with adults pay a lower child rate, shown on the booking form. Yad Vashem does not admit children under 10, and some days start very early, so plan with younger kids in mind.

How fit do I need to be?

A normal level of fitness is enough. Expect walking on stone streets and steps in Jerusalem and Acre, sandy ground at Giza and Saqqara, and steps down into the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Day 7 includes a drive of about 10 hours.

When is the best time to take this tour?

Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons, and winter is pleasant on the Nile though cooler in Jerusalem. Summer is very hot in Upper Egypt and at the Dead Sea, so pack light clothing, a hat and plenty of water. Our Israel, Jordan and Egypt travel guide has more planning tips.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

This tour is non-refundable because hotels, flights and the cruise are pre-paid as soon as you book. If your plans change, contact us and we will try to move your dates, subject to availability. Full details are in our booking terms.

Can I add Abu Simbel or Alexandria?

Yes. When you book you can add an Abu Simbel tour, an Alexandria day tour, a lunch package or an extra night before or after the tour. Each add-on shows its price on the booking form.
