Your luxury Israel tour with Petra begins at Ben Gurion Airport, where a driver meets you and helps you on your way. A limousine takes you to your hotel in Tel Aviv. The rest of the day is yours to settle in, and you sleep at your hotel in Tel Aviv.
The touring day starts at 08:30 from your hotel with a visit to ANU, the Museum of the Jewish People, which tells the story of Jewish communities around the world. You continue to Old Jaffa for its ancient remains and artists' quarter, then stroll through the lanes of Neve Tzedek. There is time for some shopping before you sleep at your hotel in Tel Aviv.
Head north on the coast road with a view over Megiddo, then drive through the Jordan Valley to the baptismal site on the Jordan River. Climb to the Golan Heights for a lookout at Hammat Gader over the meeting point of the Israeli, Jordanian and Syrian borders, and visit the ancient synagogue at Katzrin, the Talmudic-era capital of the Golan. The day ends on Mount Bental, overlooking the Quneitra Valley, with a stop at a former Syrian fortification.
Drive along the Mediterranean to Caesarea, where your guide shows you the excavated rooms, moat and gateways, the Roman theater still used for concerts, the hippodrome and a Roman temple. In Haifa you tour the Baha'i Shrine and its 19 terraced gardens, then a cable car takes you down to the sea grottoes at Rosh Hanikra. On the way back you explore the Crusader city of Acre and its old prison, used under Ottoman rule and later by the British to execute Jewish underground fighters. You sleep at your hotel in Tel Aviv.
Drive north past Netanya and Herzliya and across the Armageddon plain, with a view of Megiddo and a stop at Mount Precipice. In Nazareth you visit the Church of the Annunciation, built where tradition places the angel Gabriel's visit to Mary, and the Church of Saint Joseph beside it. You then travel to Jerusalem, where you sleep for the next three nights.
After breakfast you drive up Mount Scopus for a view over the Old City. Inside the walls you walk through the Jewish Quarter to the Western Wall, then follow the Via Dolorosa and the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The day also includes Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust memorial and museum, and you sleep at your hotel in Jerusalem.
Cross the desert to Jericho, one of the oldest cities in the world, where you see the Mount of Temptation and the tree linked to Zacchaeus. You tour the excavations and the ancient synagogue there, then continue to Bethlehem. Walk across Manger Square to the Church of the Nativity and the Church of Saint Catherine before you return to your hotel in Jerusalem.
Travel south to Masada and ride the cable car to the top, where you tour the synagogue, the palaces, the bathhouse and the Roman barracks. Afterward you swim in the Dead Sea and try a mud bath on the shore. You also stop at the Qumran caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, before the long drive south to Eilat, where you sleep.
A driver collects you from your Eilat hotel in the morning and takes you to the Arava border, where you get help with the crossing. On the way to Petra you make a short stop in Wadi Rum. In Petra you tour the Treasury, the rock-cut facades, the Roman theater and the temples, and in the evening you return for Petra by Night. You sleep at your hotel in Petra.
This day is yours to explore Petra again at your own pace, revisiting favorite spots or walking trails you missed. In the afternoon you are driven back to the border and cross into Israel. You sleep at your hotel in Eilat.
In the morning you fly from Ramon Airport, north of Eilat, to Ben Gurion Airport. There you connect to your international flight home, and the tour ends. If you would like more time in Israel, you can add a hotel night after the tour on the booking form.
