Israel Package Tours
Five days is enough to see Jewish Israel from the desert to the northern border, and this 5 day Jewish Israel tour uses every one of them. You start beneath Jerusalem in the City of David, stand on Masada and float in the Dead Sea, then head north for the Golan Heights, the mystic city of Safed and the Crusader port of Acre. Each day is fully guided, with four hotel nights along the way.
Day 1 explores Jewish Jerusalem, from King David's Tomb and the Sephardic synagogues to the Western Wall and the City of David. Day 2 drops to Masada and a Dead Sea beach. Day 3 crosses into the Golan for the Talmudic village at Katzrin and the lookout on Mount Bental. Day 4 starts on a kibbutz, then visits the Banias springs, Nimrod Fortress and the old synagogues of Safed. Day 5 follows the coast through Caesarea, Haifa, Rosh Hanikra and Acre.
This 5 day Jewish Israel tour is made for families, Jewish heritage travelers and anyone who wants the full picture without planning every transfer. Shorter trips usually skip the Upper Galilee and Safed, which are some of the most meaningful places for Jewish history. Five days lets you add them at a relaxed pace, with a night in the north so you are not driving back and forth.
On day 1, pickup is from your hotel in Tel Aviv at around 07:15 or in Jerusalem at around 08:30, and the northern days often start earlier. You stay 4 nights in tourist class hotels with breakfast, confirmed on your booking voucher, and one night in the north may be at a kibbutz guesthouse. Choose a double, triple or single room, and the booking form shows the exact per person price. Masada park entrance with the cable car is paid on the day. Since the hotel nights are pre-paid, this package is non-refundable. Short on time? Try the Masada and Dead Sea day tour, our classic 5 day Israel tour or the full list of 3 to 5 day Israel tours. Numbers match the itinerary below. Solid lines are walking legs, dashed lines are drives. Map is for orientation only.
Pickup from Tel Aviv hotels is at around 07:15, and from Jerusalem hotels at around 08:30. Pickups can start 30 to 60 minutes earlier, and we confirm your exact time the day before. The first stop is the Mount of Olives, with the Temple Mount and the ancient Jewish cemetery spread out below.
Drive the Kidron Valley past the tombs of Absalom and Zechariah to King David's Tomb. Inside, a velvet cloth with a lyre and crown covers the cenotaph, and men and women pray in separate sections.
Through Zion Gate you reach the Four Sephardic Synagogues, restored after 1967, and the 2,700-year-old Broad Wall of King Hezekiah. You then go underground into Herodian mansions with mosaic floors and ritual baths, before reaching the Western Wall.
Leave through Dung Gate to the City of David, the original Jerusalem from 3,000 years ago. You learn how Hezekiah's engineers brought water inside the walls and pause at the Gihon Spring, where Solomon was anointed king.
Check in to your tourist class hotel, which is named on your booking voucher. Dinner is not included, so the evening is free. Breakfast is served the next morning before day 2.
After breakfast you are picked up from your hotel and drive down from Jerusalem past the Inn of the Good Samaritan. You stop at the sea level marker for a wide desert view, with Jericho in the distance.
Ride the cable car up to Masada to explore Herod's palaces, bathhouse, storerooms and synagogue. Your guide tells the story of the Jewish rebels who held out against Rome, one of the most powerful chapters in Jewish history. The park entrance with the round-trip cable car is paid on the day.
Pass the oasis of Ein Gedi and the caves of Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Then relax on a beach at the Dead Sea and float in water so salty you cannot sink.
Return to your tourist class hotel for a free evening. Breakfast is included the next morning before the drive north.
Head north through the Jezreel Valley with a view of Megiddo, then stop above the south end of the Sea of Galilee. You cross the Jordan River past Hamat Gader and climb to the Shalom Observatory, with Tiberias across the lake.
Walk through the restored Talmudic village at Katzrin, with its basalt synagogue, houses and olive press. The museum in town shows finds from the region and tells the story of Gamla, the Jewish city that fought Rome.
Explore the Syrian bunkers and trenches on Mount Bental, captured in the Six Day War. From the top you look across the UN buffer zone to Quneitra in Syria.
Spend the night in the north. This night may be at a kibbutz guesthouse, confirmed on your booking voucher, with breakfast the next morning.
Start with a short look around the kibbutz and how this unique community works. Then drive to the foot of Mount Hermon and the Banias, a Roman site dedicated to the god Pan with streams, forest and waterfalls.
Climb around Nimrod Fortress, a 13th-century castle on a ridge above the Hula Valley. The walls and towers frame wide views of the Golan.
Stop for lunch at a Druze restaurant (at your own cost), then continue to Safed, the city of Kabbalah. You visit the Caro and Ari synagogues and the galleries of the Artists' Quarter before heading south.
Check in to your tourist class hotel for the final night, named on your booking voucher. Breakfast is served before the coastal day.
After breakfast you head for Caesarea, the port city Herod built in honor of Caesar. You walk through the Roman theater, the hippodrome and the ruins of a temple above the old harbor.
Stop in Haifa to see the Baha'i Shrine and its 19 terraces of gardens on Mount Carmel. At the Lebanese border, a cable car then drops you to the Rosh Hanikra grottoes, sea caves carved by the waves.
In Acre you walk the walls that held off Napoleon and explore the Crusader remains. You also see the prison and gallows where the British held and executed Jewish underground fighters during the Mandate.
The drive back south ends at your hotel in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. You finish with five full days of Jewish history behind you.
You choose your pickup city when you book. We confirm the exact pickup time and place by email or WhatsApp the day before the tour.
