Overview

If you want the three headline countries of the Middle East in one trip, this Israel Jordan Egypt tour with Luxor gets you there in 10 days. You see the Galilee, the Mediterranean coast, Masada and Jerusalem in Israel, cross into Jordan for Petra and a night in a Wadi Rum desert tent, then spend the last four days in Egypt, from the Pyramids to the temples of Luxor and the seafront of Alexandria.

The route moves in one clear line. Days 1 to 3 are guided day trips in Israel: Caesarea, Haifa, Rosh Hanikra and Acre, then Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee, then Masada and the Dead Sea. Day 4 is Jerusalem, followed by a domestic flight to Ramon Airport and a night in Eilat. Day 5 is Petra, and day 6 brings a jeep safari in Wadi Rum and the overland drive to Cairo. Days 7 and 8 cover Giza, Saqqara, Memphis, the Egyptian Museum and the Citadel, then sleeper trains carry you to Luxor and back for a full day on both banks of the Nile. Day 10 ends in Alexandria and at Cairo Airport.

This Israel Jordan Egypt tour with Luxor suits travelers who want a lot of sightseeing in limited time and are happy with early starts. Two nights on sleeper trains let you reach Luxor without losing a touring day, and the Alexandria finale is something most 10 day routes leave out. It works well for first-time visitors to the region, couples and friends, and history lovers who want Roman, biblical, Nabataean and Pharaonic sites in one trip.

The Israel touring days start from the meeting point at the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv, usually between 07:15 and 07:30 (08:15 on day 4). Hotels are on a bed and breakfast basis. You book a shared room price per person or a single room as a solo traveler, and you can add a 4-star or 5-star hotel upgrade. The booking form shows the exact price for your room and number of travelers. The tour departs daily, subject to availability. Because the Israel Jordan Egypt tour with Luxor includes pre-paid hotels, flights and trains, it is non-refundable. Want a slower pace? Frequently asked questions

What does the Israel Jordan Egypt tour with Luxor include?

The price covers the guided day tours in Israel, Petra, Wadi Rum, Cairo, Luxor and Alexandria as described, hotel nights on a bed and breakfast basis, one night in a Wadi Rum desert tent and two nights on sleeper trains between Cairo and Luxor. It also includes the domestic flight from Ben Gurion Airport to Ramon Airport with a shuttle to Eilat, help at the Arava and Taba border crossings, the overland transfers between countries and the final drop-off at Cairo Airport. The booking form shows the exact price for your room and number of travelers.

Are visas and border fees for Jordan and Egypt included?

No. Jordan and Egypt visa fees and border taxes are not part of the tour price and are paid at the crossings. Our team helps you with the formalities at the Arava and Taba borders, so bring enough cash for the fees and check the visa rules for your nationality before you travel. Our Israel Jordan border crossing guide explains each step.

What passport do I need for this tour?

You need a valid passport for the whole trip, and you should carry it every day. You cross the Israel and Jordan border twice and enter Egypt at Taba, and hotels also ask for it at check-in. Egypt runs its official e-visa service at visa2egypt.gov.eg, so check your nationality there before you travel.

Where and when does the tour start?

Day 1 starts at the meeting point at the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv between 07:15 and 07:30. Airport arrival is not part of day 1, so plan to arrive the day before. You can add a pre-tour hotel night and an airport transfer when you book.

What are the hotels like?

Hotels are on a bed and breakfast basis and are chosen subject to availability at the time of booking. You also spend one night in a desert tent in Wadi Rum and two nights on sleeper trains. Some days start before hotel breakfast opens, so ask reception the night before about a breakfast box. Upgrades to 4-star or 5-star hotels are available as extras.

What booking options are there?

You can book the shared room price, which is per person for 2 or more travelers sharing a room, or the solo traveler option with a single room. Extras include a pre-tour night, an airport transfer, hotel upgrades, a lunch package and a hot air balloon flight. The booking form shows every price before you pay.

Can children join the tour?

Yes, children are welcome and a child rate is available on the shared room option. Keep in mind this route has long drives, border crossings and two nights on trains, so it suits older children who are used to travel best.

How fit do I need to be?

A normal level of fitness is enough, but expect plenty of walking. Petra involves several kilometers on sand and stone paths, and Jerusalem's Old City and the Luxor temples have steps and uneven ground. Some transfer days are long, especially the overland drive to Cairo.

When is the best time to go?

Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons, with warm days that suit Petra and Luxor. Summer is very hot in the desert and in Upper Egypt, and winter nights in Wadi Rum can be cold. The tour departs daily, subject to availability, so check the calendar for open dates. Our Israel, Jordan and Egypt travel guide has more planning tips.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

This tour is non-refundable because hotels, flights and trains are paid in advance. The order of the day tours may shift between days. If a day tour is canceled for reasons beyond our control, you receive a refund for the value of that day or a different tour in its place. Full details are in our booking terms.
