Overview

This 8 day Bedouin Jordan tour follows the old desert routes from Amman to the Red Sea and back, with a professional licensed guide and seven hotel nights. You walk the Roman streets of Jerash, stand on Mount Nebo, spend a full day in Petra, ride a jeep through Wadi Rum and enjoy a free day by the sea in Aqaba. The trip ends with a stop at the Baptism Site and a relaxing night at the Dead Sea.

8 Day Bedouin Jordan Tour: Route and Highlights

Days 1 and 2 are in Amman, with Jerash, Ajloun Castle, the Citadel and the downtown souk. Day 3 takes you to Madaba and Mount Nebo on the way to Petra, and day 4 is a full day in the rose-red city. On day 5 you cross Wadi Rum by jeep and continue to Aqaba, where day 6 is free. Day 7 brings the Baptism Site and the Dead Sea, and day 8 is your airport transfer.

This 8 day Bedouin Jordan tour suits travelers who want variety: history and Bible sites, desert scenery, sea time and a spa-style finish. It works well for couples and small groups, since groups are capped at 12 travelers. Eight days gives you two nights in each of Amman, Petra and Aqaba, so you unpack more than you pack, and the free day in Aqaba breaks up the touring.

Your arrival and departure transfers at Amman airport are part of the package. Choose 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotels, priced per person in a shared double room for 2 or more travelers, or as a single room if you travel solo. Children pay a lower rate on the shared room options, and the booking form shows the exact price for your option and number of travelers. Because all hotel nights are pre-paid, the tour is non-refundable. Compare our 8 day Aqaba diving tour with Petra and Wadi Rum, browse other 6 to 8 day tours or see all Jordan package tours. The tour departs daily, subject to availability, so choose your date and book your 8 day Bedouin Jordan tour today.

Your 8 day Bedouin Jordan tour begins at Queen Alia International Airport, where our team meets and assists you on arrival. A driver takes you to your hotel in Amman, and the rest of the day is free. You sleep at your hotel in Amman.

  2. 2
    Day 2Jerash, Ajloun and Amman

After breakfast you visit the Greco-Roman city of Jerash, one of the best preserved ancient sites in Jordan. The road then winds northwest through pine forests and olive groves to Ajloun and its hilltop castle. Back in Amman you tour the Citadel, the Roman Theater and the Jordan Archaeological Museum, and finish in the downtown souk with its gold and silver jewelry, coffee pots and handicrafts. You sleep at your hotel in Amman.

  3. 3
Day 3Madaba, Mount Nebo and Petra

After breakfast you drive south to the biblical city of Madaba, known for the ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land in its Greek Orthodox church. Next comes Mount Nebo, where tradition says Moses looked over the Promised Land and was buried. You continue to Petra and sleep at your hotel there.

  4. 4
Day 4A Full Day in Petra

The whole day is dedicated to Petra, the rock-carved Rose-Red City that is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The highlight for most visitors is the Treasury, a 42-meter facade cut into the cliff. The long walk through the site can also be done Nabatean style, on horseback. You sleep at your hotel in Petra again.

  5. 5
Day 5Wadi Rum Jeep Safari and Aqaba

Today you head into Wadi Rum for a rustic jeep safari through its silent desert, a UNESCO-listed protected area where the Nabateans left rock drawings on the mountainsides. Later in the day you drive on to Aqaba, Jordan's only seaport. You sleep at your hotel in Aqaba.

  6. 6
    Day 6Free Day in Aqaba

After breakfast the day is yours in Aqaba, on the same Red Sea gulf as Eilat. You can dive, swim or snorkel, or see the coral and marine life from a glass-bottom boat if you prefer to stay dry. These activities are optional and not part of the program. You sleep at your hotel in Aqaba.

  7. 7
Day 7The Baptism Site and the Dead Sea

After breakfast you drive north toward the Dead Sea, stopping at the Baptism Site, where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. In the afternoon you reach your resort on the Dead Sea and float in its mineral-rich water. You sleep at your hotel at the Dead Sea.
