How to use this Israel and Jordan travel guide
Most travelers planning a trip here juggle several questions at once: which sites are worth the time, how to cross between countries, and how much fits into the days available. Start with the region you are most drawn to, whether that is Jerusalem and its Old City, the Dead Sea and Masada, the Galilee and the north, or the desert route south to Eilat and across to Petra. Each hub page collects our tours and every guide we have written about that destination, so you can plan in one place before you commit to an itinerary.
A typical first trip pairs Jerusalem with the Dead Sea, then adds either the Galilee in the north or a crossing into Jordan for Petra and Wadi Rum. Travelers with more time extend into the Sinai in Egypt or finish with a few days in Dubai and the UAE. Whatever shape your trip takes, the topic guides below cover the practical side, from border crossings and visas to the best time to visit and how to get around.

When to visit and how long to stay
Spring, from March to May, and autumn, from September to November, are the most comfortable seasons across the whole region, with warm days and cool evenings in Jerusalem and the Galilee and bearable heat at the Dead Sea and in Petra. Summer is hot, especially in Eilat, the Dead Sea, and the Jordanian desert, so plan early starts and midday breaks. Winter is mild on the coast and in the south, though Jerusalem and the northern hills can be cold and wet.
For length of stay, five to seven days is enough for a focused first trip built around Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, while ten days or more lets you add the Galilee, cross into Jordan for Petra, and still leave room for a Sinai or Dubai extension. The guides in this Israel and Jordan travel guide are organized so you can mix and match by region and by interest, then send us the shortlist when you are ready to turn it into a booked itinerary.
